CONFERENCE
Management in the Age of AI (MAIA 2026)
Beyond automation: managing human organisation in the era of intelligent agents
Online, 13th July 2026
About the conference
An international online scientific conference bringing together researchers, managers and decision-makers, dedicated to the key management challenges in the era of agent-based AI – from the supervision of autonomous systems, through the ethics and responsibility of algorithms, to new competences of leaders.
For decades, management theories have provided a stable compass for navigating the corporate world. Today, that compass is spinning faster than ever. Artifi cial Intelligence has evolved far beyond simple automation – we now stand at the threshold of the agentic era, where AI systems do not merely process data but autonomously plan, reason, and act on behalf of organisations. This shift fundamentally rewrites the rules of organisational life. Leaders are grappling with unprecedented questions: What is the role of human judgement when autonomous agents make and execute decisions at machine speed? How do you govern systems that learn and adapt faster than any policy can be written? And most critically, how do you build organisations that remain resilient, ethical, and human-centred when AI is not just a tool, but an actor?
Vision:
We believe that the future of successful organisations lies not in resisting AI agents, but in mastering the management principles necessary to direct, govern, and harness their power responsibly. This conference, ‘Management in the Age of AI’, was born out of an urgent need to move from fascination with technology to a focus on the human and organisational strategies necessary for success in an era of intelligent, autonomous systems. As an international online conference, it brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to shape this critical agenda together.
International partners:
TAR UMT (Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology) is a non-profit private university in Malaysia, established in 1969. It offers over 200 pre-university, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs across six campuses. The institution is well-known for producing highly employable graduates in fields like business, computing, and engineering.

Global Dialogue:
This story takes on particular power when told across borders. By bringing together perspectives from Poland (representing rapid digital transformation in the European Union) and academic and business communities from across the globe, we create a unique international platform. Our conference recognises that while technology itself is universal, the challenges of its implementation – from cultural adaptation and employee readiness to regulatory frameworks and return on investment – are distinctly local and context-dependent.
Significance:
This is more than a conference; it is a shared mission. As an international online conference, we are building a global bridge between technological possibilities and management reality. We invite researchers and practitioners from across the world to jointly defi ne a new generation of leadership – one that manages not only people and resources, but also intelligent agents, ensuring that autonomous AI serves as a true engine of ethical progress and sustainable economic growth.
What differentiates us?
MAIA 2026 is the inaugural edition of an international scientific conference dedicated specifically to the management challenges of the agentic AI era – not just AI in general, but autonomous, decision-making systems that act on behalf of organisations.
As a first-of-its-kind event, it brings together researchers, managers, regulators and AI ethicists in a single interdisciplinary space, bridging academic insight and real-world practice. Presentations span ten thematic areas – from algorithmic accountability and hybrid human–AI teams to the strategic implications of the EU AI Act.
All accepted contributions will be published in a peer-reviewed scientific monograph, giving participants a tangible academic output. The event is fully online, conducted in English, and free of charge – making it accessible to an international audience without barriers.
